EDA’s Little Elites Academy helps young players develop the skills and knowledge to successfully transition from a recreational to a competitive soccer program.
Little Elites is open to boys and girls ages 5-8. All players are accepted into our academy program. Players from the Little Elites Academy will serve as a feeder system into our Elite Development Academy boys and girls competitive teams.
Little Elites provides an environment that instills a positive attitude, respect for opponents, teammates and coaches as well as developing a love of the game. Small-sided games focus on developing soccer skills, FUNdamentals and sportsmanship.
Elite Skills & Development
The Elite coaching staff will run the Little Elites Academy program and will be coaching your child. All players are broken up into small groups according to their age and ability level. The goal of the program is development of technique, soccer skills and an introduction to individual and small group tactics which are the foundation of soccer. Skills that will be taught include dribbling, passing, collecting/receiving balls, shooting, fast footwork training and how to dribble past an opponent. Actual small-sided soccer games conclude each training session.
Why Become a Little Elite Now?
The 5-9 age group is at a critical stage in the development of a soccer player. Skills and technique lay the foundation for a child’s ability to enjoy the game and become a successful soccer player. Unfortunately, many young players do not get the proper instruction at this age level as many youth coaches have not played the game and cannot demonstrate soccer skills properly.
We use demonstrations, NOT explanations when teaching soccer techniques and skills. Young players learn by seeing someone properly demonstrate a technique, imitating the skill, and then repeating it in practice. Our staff of Elite coaches with high-level playing backgrounds will give your child correct demonstrations and the reinforcement needed to become a successful soccer player.
